Dr Sally Simmonds (f)

BM DFRSH Partner

Dr Simmonds was brought up and educated in Suffolk. Having done Arts subjects at A level she was fortunate to be accepted onto a Medical Foundation Year and qualified from Southampton University Medical School in 1987. She completed GP training at Portsmouth and Ipswich Hospitals and then worked as a GP in Lowestoft before joining The Leiston Surgery.

Dr Simmonds has developed an interest in Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care but enjoys all aspects of General Practice. Her outside interests include running, gardening and French.

Dr Karen Blades (f)

FRCGP Partner

Qualified Bristol University 1990.GMC:3488133

Dr Blades trained as a GP at Leiston Surgery and has been a partner since 2008. Dr Blades previously worked in HM Forces and served with First Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment.

Dr Blades has an interest in Undergraduate Medical Education and is an Hon Senior Lecturer at Norwich Medical School. Dr Blades's clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine and dementia and is very keen on ensuring we use our precious NHS resources wisely.

Dr Nicola Maggs (f)

MRCGP Partner

Qualifications: MBBS, BSC (Hon), MRCGP, DFFP, DRCOG 

Dr Nicola Maggs studied at Kings Univeristy in London and qualified in 1998. Her clinical interests include obstetrics and gynecology, paediatrics and minor surgery. Dr Maggs will be an associate trainer by the end of March 2015 and currently teaches students from Cambridge University and the University East Anglia.

Outside of work Dr Maggs enjoys Karate and spending time with her family.

Dr Samir Pai (m)

MRCGP Partner

Qualifications: MBBS,MD,MRCGP, PG Cert (Medical Education)

Dr Pai studied medicine at the University of Mumbai and qualified in 1997.He trained as a GP at Leiston Surgery and became a partner in early 2015. Dr Pai previously worked at Ipswich Hospital for nearly ten years as an anaesthetist.

Dr Pai has a specialist interest in medical education. He is a GP  trainer responsible for training the next generation of GPs. Dr Pai is also actively involved in undergraduate medical education and is a Senior Lecturer at Norwich Medical School (UEA). His clinical interests include Diabetes, Dementia and Musculoskeletal Medicine. 

Outside of work he can be spotted at Copdock and Old Ipswichians Cricket Club coaching future cricket superstars. He loves listening to classic rock and spending quality time with his family. 

Dr Imran Qureshi (m)

MRCGP Partner

Qualifcations:MBBS, MRCGP, DRCOG
Qualified in 2000 at St Georges hospital london

Dr Qureshi has been a GP since 2007 when he moved to Suffolk.  He has an interest in ENT, minor surgery and Clinically led Commissioning; and chairs the clinical executive of the CCG on tuesdays and thursdays.
Outside interests include snooker, cricket, cars and reading.
